Q.
Nowadays people use bicycles less as a form of transport. Why is this the case? What can we do to encourage people to use bicycles more? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from own knowledge or experience.
In this contemporary era, people prefer to use other modes of transport such as cars, buses, etc. instead of bicycles and this number is increasing significantly these days. Although there are many possible reasons for using bicycles, society has changed, especially in recent decades. I will tell you about the reasons for this problem in further steps.
On the one hand, bicycles were used because they were cheap, accessible, and good for both health and the environment. For example, families who could not afford a car bought bicycles for everyday activities. For this reason, this mode of transport has increased.
On the other hand, due to modern hectic life and advancement of technology, mankind cannot use the old-fashioned way to keep up with this pace. They should replace new innovations with old ones. For example, subway trains are useful because they help a large number of people carry out routine activities at the required higher speed. In addition, subways are environmentally friendly, which can offer various benefits to modern people.
To summarize, all the above-mentioned points can lead us to the conclusion that while new alternatives can also be beneficial, governments must return old alternatives to society. Because technologizing every aspect of life can be detrimental to the future. Therefore, optimizing cities, making them safer and simpler, is one possible solution. The government can also allocate a budget to educate schoolchildren from childhood on the need to use bicycles for the body and nature.
