Q. Many students around the world don’t choose science subjects at university. Give the reasons for this and describe the impact on the community?

Nowadays, it is noticed that most of the students are opting for commerce and arts subjects for vocational training instead of opting for science courses. There are various reasons for not opting for science subjects in professional academics which also have a negative impact on the society.

On the one hand, students all over the world do not study scientific subjects such as biology, chemistry, and so on in their higher education institutions. Typically, science courses are more expensive than general subjects because these courses also require additional training and practical education. However, other subjects do not need any special preparation for their future. For example, doctors require 1 year of training in any hospital, after which they also receive a degree and license. Also, it is very difficult for science students to find a job because they are tied to their field, but other students will find a job without much difficulty.

On the other hand, choosing the field of art and commerce has a huge impact on our society. This world will face a shortage of doctors and other nursing staff. Thus, the morbidity and mortality rate increases in a very short period of time. For example, the world is facing new diseases caused by new germs and bacteria that cause various diseases. For example, the world is facing coronavirus, which greatly harms human health, and people are also dying due to this virus. After the spread of this virus, the whole world faced a shortage of doctors and nursing staff.

To summarize, this scenario is severe for every nation and the future of the world. Governments should encourage young people to take an interest in the sciences and pursue careers in science.
