Q. Advertisements are becoming more and more common in everyday life. Is it a positive or negative development?

Advertising is gaining more popularity in the marketing of products or services. While advertisements are considered to be advantageous, they can have numerous negative influences.

There is no doubt that advertising has a number of advantages. With massive expansion of advertising in almost all types of media and on almost all billboards, this sector is likely to create varied employment opportunities. In other words, it provides work to artists, painters or copywriters to design and prepare logos, content or advertising ideas. Another benefit is that advertising can allow the messages contained in products and services to reach potential customers, leading to increased sales for businesses. In addition, only through advertising can customers be informed about new products. This gives them more choice in the foods they love, which improves their comfort and standard of living.

However, advertising can cause a number of inconveniences to customers. Once companies or businesses may exaggerate or even misrepresent the facts associated with their products for commercial purposes, customers may experience a sense of confusion about these products, due to which they have trouble choosing the products according to their liking. Moreover, evidence shows that the more advertising costs increase, the higher the price of the product. The reason may be that the high cost of advertising is covered by the selling price of the advertised product. As a result, advertised products may cost more than they should. Finally, when customers cannot resist the temptation to buy products that are advertised beyond their expectations, there is a high likelihood that they will buy products that may not be needed. This trend can be seen as a waste of money.

In conclusion, based on the above explanations, people may experience both significant benefits and disadvantages as a result of the increasing prevalence of advertising.
