Q. Some countries spend a lot of money to make bicycle usage easier. Why is that? Is this the best solution to traffic congestion?

In this contemporary era, nations devote a significant portion of their national budgets to funding pedaling. It is believed that investing in proper cycling infrastructure will ultimately reduce street litter and contribute to a greener environment. However, there are other pragmatic approaches to mitigating the problem of roadblocks in megacities. The following essay will explain in more detail the reasons for this funding, as well as other decisions.

To inaugurate with, investing in bicycles as a primary means of transportation can greatly alleviate the problem of clogged streets. To illustrate this, if authorities build large roads that are convenient for commuters, people will eventually develop the habit of using bicycles all the time. A prime example of this is the Netherlands, whose capital has one of the largest numbers of bikers, as users have safe lanes for this purpose. Moreover, since bicycles operate by physically pedaling without burning fuel, they reduce environmental pollution. Thus, the use of bicycles not only reduces traffic congestion, but also improves air quality for people.

Nevertheless, it is suggested that while the use of bicycles is a way to solve this problem, there are other, more viable solutions to mitigate the problem of clogged streets, such as improving the public transport system and subsidizing it for the population. This is because when governments improve the quality, quantity and availability of public transport, there is a positive public consensus about their use. For instance, London has a massive comprehensive network of trains and buses that services almost all areas at affordable prices. additionally, increasing the prices of fuels can encourage people to use alternatives to their private vehicles. Hence, what can be said is that the issue of roadblocks can be solved by initiatives conducted by countries' authorities.

To conclude, after the above-mentioned points have been brought out in this essay, it can be reiterated that nowadays nations can reduce the problem of congested roads and purify the air by financing proper infrastructure as a means of transportation. Support the notion of using a bike. However, there are more viable solutions to address this issue such as providing better public transportation and increasing fuel prices.
