Q. Some people believe that children that commit crimes should be punished. Others think the parents should be punished instead. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Most people in society believe that some children who commit a crime should be punished. Others believe that their parents should be punished on their behalf. It is worth discussing both points of view, and, in my opinion, I believe that punishing children for their misdeeds is more beneficial than punishing parents.

On the one hand, many people in society believe that young people who are delinquent should be punished for their crimes. Then they will be afraid of repeating the wrong behavior. In addition, it will be a chance to avoid the crime from happening again. For example, when a boy is caught by his parents stealing money and they punish him, he feels guilty and will never commit the same misdeed. Therefore, the punishment for misconduct is obligatory for them.

On the other hand, if the parents were punished instead of the children, a negative message would be sent to the culture and the new generation would not be afraid to commit crimes. For instance, if a child does not have a provision for punishment for the guilty, he does so. They do not take it seriously and other teenagers in the community also develop negative attitudes. Therefore, this would likely lead to an increase in delinquency among juveniles.

To conclude, although some people believe that it is appropriate to punish parents for the crimes of children. I believe that children should be punished for their misdeeds. This will benefit the community. Because it contributes to the increasing number of youth in the population.
