Q. The chart shows the employment status of adults in the US in 2003 and 2013.

The given vertical bar graph illustrates the percentage of American adults in different fields of employment from 2003 to 2013.

In 2003, about 45% of adults worked as businessmen or businesswomen, while medical employers ranked second, above 20%. As for the self-employed, the unemployed, and jobs in construction, the rankings declined accordingly with a figure above 10%. Adults working in the hospitality industry accounted for almost 4%, the lowest figure in 2003.

In 2013, while business was still an appealing job to adults, the figure dropped by approximately 10%. There was impressive growth regarding self-employed and unemployed status (about 18%), ranking second and third with the number roughly the same as the business category. Medical workers' percentage was at the bottom of data, nearly 13%.

Overall, it is crystal clear that the number of adults who were employed in the business area ranked first in both given years. Besides, there was a downward trend in terms of medical and business categories.
