Q.
There have been many inventions in the human history, such as the wheel. Some people think the most important thing is the internet. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
It is universally believed that the Internet has so far been the most revolutionary innovation humanity has ever witnessed. While many people agree with this idea, I would argue that the invention of electricity is infinitely more important than the data network.
On the one hand, it is understandable why some people are of the opinion that the Internet is the most important thing that has ever been invented. The main reason is that the Internet enables a number of other creations that completely change human life. For instance, Facebook or Skype, which rely on an Internet connection, allows people to interact with each other over long distances almost instantly, thereby significantly reducing travel costs, especially for people who work or study abroad. In addition, the computer network also gives people the coveted ability to access the vast amount of valuable educational material available on websites. The consequence of this is that people are becoming much more informed and educated than before the advent of the Internet. For example, while in the past people had to rely on teachers or libraries for their education, now they can learn anything anywhere as long as they have a device with network access. This is really convenient because even people sitting at home can find out the situation in the world simply by their smartphone.
On the other hand, despite the above advantages, I am convinced that electricity is the most important in the history of mankind for many reasons. First of all, without electricity, other modern devices would be useless. Because at present, almost vital appliances such as TV, fans, and air conditioners are working properly due to the power supply. This shows how indispensable electrical energy is in most things created by people. Another major reason that reinforces the importance of electricity is that it abandons an obsolete civilization in favor of a modern one. To illustrate, the invention of the light bulb in the 19th century completely changed the way people lived. In the past, they used to scare when they went out onto the road due to the lack of light, but now they can freely walk along the street without thinking.
