Q.
Environmental protection is the responsibility of politicians, not individuals as individuals can do too little. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
The sustainability of nature is essential for the continuation of the human species, animals, and plants. A number of people argue that conservation is the sole responsibility of politicians, since the masses have little influence in this area. In my opinion, I think that this is not entirely true, since people can also play a vital role. I will support my point of view with valid arguments and examples.
Members of Parliament are undoubtedly at the helm, pushing bills and constitutions in the House of Assembly. Furthermore, they can easily sponsor laws favoring the protection of nature, such as banning waste disposal on beaches, enforcing plastic recycling, and regulating deforestation and illegal mining activities. All these activities, if not controlled, have an adverse impact on the environment. For instance, in some countries representatives are authorized to have an environmentally friendly project during their management. This allows them to pay close attention to conservation issues.
Instead of waiting for politicians to take responsibility for environmental issues, individuals form non-governmental organizations to protect nature. Moreover, these private institutions organize rallies, and educational programs and even make donations to save the planet. For example, during the bushfire in Australia, many people donated money and held charity events to help wildlife. This shows that people can also influence change, despite the opposite opinion.
