Q. Some people think the money spent in developing the technology for space exploration is not justified. There are better ways to spend that money. To what extend do you agree or disagree?

Since the Stone Age, man has had a strong desire to reach the stars and the sky above him. Today, with the development of technology, he has fulfilled his wish. There is some speculation that channeling funds into space exploration and space-related businesses will deprive vital resources from other efforts such as tackling climate change, fighting poverty, but in my opinion this may not seem entirely accurate.

To commence with, almost every field of technology has benefited from space exploration. Clothing or vehicles are more fire resistant due to spacecraft developments. The weather forecast is much more accurate than before thanks to satellite monitoring, or we can surf the Internet during an airplane flight almost anywhere in the world; in other words, we are now more connected than ever. Health care practices have improved so much thanks to research programs; for example, baby food is healthier thanks to astronaut food research.

Moreover, the Earth is the only inhabited planet in the entire universe; unfortunately, He is undergoing destructive changes created by humans. To overcome this, we can use the help of satellites. They provide valuable data on how our planet is changing. This data could help scientists track important issues such as climate change or air, water and soil pollution and eventually find solutions to them. For example, satellites have detected the thinning of the ozone layer, and governments have taken action to combat climate change.

To conclude, I would like to note that funding aerospace science projects is not only a waste of money, but also a lot of benefits that help us continue to live on our incomparable planet.
